+ Added the option to keep the extracted panels on top of other windows (ie Cue Bank, DMX Monitor, Controls.) + Improved support of 2x2 video splitters like Datapath FX4/HX4 or Matrox QuadHead2Go (any resolution above 2560x1440 will propose 4 accessible sub screens so you can create one projector for each output) + Added DMX Fixture Circle to map a visual on a circular LED device (minimum System requirements to run MadMapper 4.0: macOS 10.9 or later / Windows (64bit) 8.1 or later)
This Beta 10 will expire the 28th of May and is free for v3 owners
If you're aware of any issue or if you have any feedback to share, you can use the feedback tool inside MadMapper or create a post on the forum. If I buy a compatible Matrox component, and things don't run smoothly, I can't use it on a newer computer. It comes with a bunch of improvements and additions such as the OSC feedback for the miniMAD or the possibility from now on to use DMX Fixtures Circle. My only other issue is that I VJ off of a Mac mini from November 2010, and it doesn't support thunderbolt.
Arkaos is going to have a video mapping plug in for Grand VJ, but it doesn't come out until June 1st (the first day of my event) plus the garage cube community seems to be pretty cool like the ME crowd.
I wanted to go the Mod 8 route, but I currently own NuVJ, and Arkaos is allowing all NuVJ licenses to upgrade to Grand VJ for around $175 through July.
I want to build a 3d screen with box like surfaces, and it seems like I need a second VJ software to create those cool effects where it traces the edges of the boxes, and to create a second feed like if I want alternate surfaces to be ambient content or logos. I was going to get a second computer to run Mapper and Grand VJ on but I don't know if I can afford it now, and I don't think Syphon can work between 2 computers. I am working on an event for the beginning of June and that's really similar to the setup I want to do. Great to Hear, this is answers a lot of my questions. Just in case anyone else is considering it. I also just started getting into doing visuals (not well DJing) And I am running Arkaos Grand VJ and that along with ME and MadMapper is giving me some super creative options.Īnyway just putting it out there so people know how well this works and how easy it was to set up. So with MadMapper i can straighten everything out. which is a feature the projectos dont have built in. So its like i need to keystone them but sideways. Also the 2 outside projectors are not perfectly straight on to the screen. Its like i'm running ME without it even on. Just to note MadMapper has put ZERO noticeable strain on my system. I think hes an idiot in that regard but its his club and he signs my checks. I prefer to use the boarder fill efx built into ME 2.0 but the owner of the club HATES the way the boarder fill looks. Also I slightly stretched the videos taller to remove some of the black on the top and bottom. So I wanted my video on all 3 screens so i used mad mapper and Syphon'ed the video out of ME into Madmapper then i duplicated the output so will would output on all 3 screens then I took the 2 out side displays and revered the image so it looks like reflections on the one in a middle. All three screens are lined up side by side with no edges and it looks like 1 massively wide widescreen. At the club I do the video show at there have a Matrox TripleHead2Go installed with 3 projects, projecting on to the wall behind the DJ. Just want to let people know how wel this works I got mad mapper the other day.
